Unstable conditions on Monday

A front is forecast to bring persistent and possibly heavy rain for the West Coast, with a risk of embedded thunderstorms within the front itself, some thunderstorm risk does extend further north into Nelson, Marlborough, Buller and Tasman.

This new thunderstorm risk map shows the risk of a thunderstorm within 10km of a given location - while a high risk shows 35% this does not guarantee you will get a thunderstorm - as you know they are very hit and miss.
